One of the most important things you can do after you purchase a new custom built Amthor tanker is knowing how to properly operate the equipment. This is especially true for dual fuel tankers. These special tankers feature two pumps, two meters, and two hose reels. This means you are doubling up on all your equipment from a single axle unit.

In a dual equipment tanker, you will need to engage each PTO and pump pressure valve. Make sure you are familiar with how to use the dry brakes in the rear and all of the bottom loading equipment on the curbside of the tanker before you make your first delivery. Additionally, you will need to ensure that the hose reel rewind, hose reel kill switch, emergency pump shut off and emergency fire release are all working properly before you put your tanker to work.

We encourage you to keep up on the regular maintenance of your vessel. Make sure you keep your PTO drive shaft greased thoroughly and check all your tie downs monthly to make sure they are tight. For more tank maintenance tips, be sure to speak with your sales representative or the manufacturing plant manager.
