Little Known Relevant Things Surrounding A Hair Transplant Surgery

Hair transplant is popularly known and understood as far as a significant procedure that is about relocating the hair from a patient’s own from the back of the scalp and onto the bald zones and the techniques of doing this is FUT and FUE.

Follicular Grafting
Follicular grafting referred to the technique of selecting hair grafts according to natural follicular units, instead of randomly created hair grafts, conducted a decade ago.
The widely known procedures Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) are the methods that execute the principle of follicular grafting. However, it is often confused that FUT and FUE are separate procedures. There is only one procedure of hair restoration, and the difference between FUT and FUE is the method the donor hair is harvested. Except for this one-step, the rest of the procedure is all the same. Because the graft-harvesting step is the integral part of the procedure, the different techniques are conceptualized as individualized as unique procedures altogether, which it is not.
Hair Loss Stages— What It Means If A Patient Says, “I am a 6”?
There are different stages of hair loss in common baldness (androgenic alopecia) classified in 7stages in a scale called Norwood Scale. Since the hair transplant surgery is conducted with a patient’s own hair, it is important that the patient be at an advanced stage, say, a 6 or 7 to resume hair growth cycle in the bald area (donor dominance).
If a hair transplant surgery is conducted at an early stage of hair miniaturization, then the transplanted hairs are likely to fall off, despite being originally baldness resistant (recipient dominance). Because it will have very less chance to survive the DHT inflammation.
Donor Dominance and Recipient Dominance
This denotes the fact that the donor hair should carry its characteristics of DHT resistance, and resumes hair growth as it is relocated from one place to the other baldness effected area. Surgeons can determine donor dominance in the existing hair with a number of hair loss prediction tests; even conduct a scalp biopsy to ascertain the outcome of the surgery.
Recipient Dominance is the opposite of donor dominance. When the DHT levels have not stabilized and the relocated hairs too, get inflamed. However, young men with an unsterilized hair loss pattern majorly face recipient dominance.
Revision Hair Transplant Surgery
Hair Transplant surgery has evolved a lot since the last decade living up to the mark of successful procedure. However, it was not as impressive as it is now; many of us have seen the obvious unnatural hair transplant results in celebrities. Revision hair transplantation is aimed to fix the previously botched surgeries with modern follicular grafting and hair camouflaging procedure. Revision hair transplant procedures include—
• Revision Hair Transplantation— old grafts are removed, re-dissected, and re-implanted
• Hair Camouflaging— New grafts are placed around the old grafts to hide them
• Scar Fixing— the linear scar is repaired by either re-implanting hair grafts on the scar tissue, scalp micro-pigmentation, or scrapping the bumpy scar to reduce into a fine line.
