Sergek Successfully Delivers First Initiative and Kicks Off Second Initiative from the MoU with Nusantara Capital Authority

Sergek delivered a Knowledge Sharing Workshop as their First Initiative under a Memorandum of Understanding with Nusantara Capital Authority. The workshop covered urban traffic challenges and showcased real-world applications.

 
On the 10th of October, Sergek successfully delivered a Knowledge Sharing Workshop on Smart Traffic and Mobility as the First Initiative listed in the Memorandum of Understanding signed on the 2nd of September 2023 between Sergek and Nusantara Capital Authority. This half day workshop which took place at JW Marriott Jakarta was attended by more than 40 representatives both in person and virtual from Nusantara Capital Authority, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kazakhstan, Kementerian Perhubungan Republik Indonesia, Dinas Perhubungan Balikpapan, Dinas Perhubungan Samarinda, Kasatlantas Balikpapan, Kasatlantas Penajam Paser Utara and Kasatlantas Samarinda.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, Fadjroel Rachman, in his officiating speech for this workshop via a recorded video statement expressed “What differentiates and makes this workshop special is that this workshop is closely connected to the greater MoU twin city or sister city between Nusantara and Astana which was signed by the Head of Nusantara Capital, Bambang Susantono and the Governor of Astana, Zhenis Kassymbek on the 3rd of July 2023 at Astana, Kazakhstan. Hence, this morning I would like to convey my greatest appreciation to Nusantara Capital Authority and Sergek for the quick follow through from both the MoUs. I’m also truly happy that this Knowledge Sharing Workshop has also included all the relevant stakeholders not only within Nusantara but also Indonesia as a whole”.

The workshop delved deep into the challenges and future visions of urban traffic and mobility. Beginning with the "5 Things Cities Got Wrong About Traffic & Mobility," common misconceptions faced by cities globally were highlighted. Attendees were also provided with insights of the real-world applications, as illustrated through "Use Cases and Key Learnings". A special focus was placed on Astana City, with a detailed case study of technical and legislative steps taken jointly by city administration, police and Sergek teams to improve traffic enforcement & management in the capital city of Kazakhstan. Throughout the event, there was active participation and a vibrant two-way discussion, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives were heard.The event proved both insightful and stimulating, rounding off with an open discussion, a recap of vital takeaways, and closing remarks.

Tonny Agus Setiono, Director of Digital Ecosystem Development, Nusantara Capital Authority in his closing remarks shared “We hope that all the lesson-learned knowledge and various smart solutions that will be presented today will continue to be developed and become part of the development of a sustainable transportation system in the capital city of the Nusantara and Indonesia, especially Balikpapan and Samarinda as a part of three-city ecosystem, in the future”.

Sergek also initiated the process today for the Second Initiative which is to deliver a Proof of Concept for Traffic and Mobility. Prof. Ali, Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, who could not attend this session in person, conveyed the following message “The proof-of-concept implementation aims to prove that the technology to be implemented is a useful technology. In the transportation sector, we hope that there will be value-added technology that can be utilized to increase Indonesia's human resource capacity, traffic efficiency, and the effectiveness of the implementation of electric vehicles.”.

Alyona Tkachenko, VP of Global Markets shared that with this close collaboration with Nusantara Capital Authority and with the support of the Indonesian Embassy in Astana, Sergek is optimistic to be able to roll-out the PoC for Nusantara in the next few months. “Both the teams in Sergek and Nusantara have a common goal to not only deliver the initiatives but more importantly to deliver relevant results that can be utilized as a catalyst to spearhead the Traffic and Mobility vision for Nusantara, neighboring cities of Balikpapan and Samarinda and be of relevance and aligned to the vision of the Ministry of Transport as well”.
