• The Date of Birth is not required
Earlier the taxpayer was required to mention his/her date of birth while logging into their account on the e-filing website, but there is no need to do this anymore.

The various ITR related documents have seen some major changes, among these documents are Form 26AS and ITR-V. It has come to our notice that the documents like Form 26AS and ITR-V, which were password protected earlier, can now be opened directly.

• Changes in Form 26AS downloading method
The process to download Form 26AS from the TRACES website has changed for this financial year. Earlier, the TRACES website used to ask the taxpayer about the option of using which you want to view your Form 26AS, i.e., in PDF, HTML or Text format. If you choose PDF version, you could easily download your Form 26AS. From this Financial Year, in order to download Form 26AS in PDF format, you are first required to view the same in HTML view and then click on 'Export as PDF’.
