Form 26AS is an annual statement, that consists of all the details related to Tax Deducted at Source, Tax Collected at Source, Tax Refund etc, that are associated with your PAN. You must verify the amount of tax deducted with your Form 26AS before you start filling your Income Tax Return.

You can download your Form 26AS from TRACES website. You can reach the official TRACES website by logging in to the Income Tax Department’s official website. Then you will have to click on view Form 26AS. Through net banking. This facility is available to a PAN holder having net banking account with any of authorized banks or financial institution.
Filing Income Tax Return
Once you reach the TRACES website you are required to choose the Assessment Year for which you wish to view the Form 26AS. Then choose the format in which you want to see or download the Form 26AS. There are 3 formats of the form 26AS HTML, Text, and PDF.
1. If you want to see Tax details online, keep the format as HTML.
2. If you would like to download Form 26AS for printing or for future reference, choose PDF.
3. You can also download the Form 26AS in text format.
Once you have made the choice and then enter the verification code and click on View/Download.Password to open Form 26AS
The password to open your Form 26AS is your date of birth in dd/mm/yyyy format. You will have to mention the date of birth, that is mentioned on your PAN.
