He first started as a drummer with the band ‘Quite Sane’ which played music blended with hip hop and jazz and from there his musical career kick started and he subsequently established himself as a song writer, drummer and music producer working with some of the big names in the music industry. He has worked with reputed artists such as John Newman, Pixie Lott, Plan B, Keziah Jones, Natasha Bedingfield, Akala and Duffy, as well as up and coming artists like Ady Suleiman and various other bands. Cassell The Beatmaker won the Ivor Novello Award for co-writing on the Plan B's critically acclaimed and commercially successful album 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks’.
