Here is great news for expectant and new moms living in the greater Boston area. Mama Ballroom is offering free classes on ballroom dance for expectant and new moms. Weekly classes, one-time workshops, and events are popping up throughout the area. This program is aimed at providing those moms with valuable bonding time with both their babies and other moms, while learning to stay fit during pre and post-natal periods. During this unique class moms have the ability to use dance and music therapy to promote mental wellness. This can be absolutely critical for some post-partum women that may be struggling with their new role. The mission of Mama Ballroom is to help moms to improve the quality of their lives through dance.

Daytime classes at Mama Ballroom include circle time where moms can share their weekly highs and lows, receive tips on health, local resources, and safe baby wearing and enjoy a 30 minute ballroom dance segment. Other exciting events that are held are Mom’s Night Out, Family Day (a weekend class), Dancing Date Night which is a chance connect with their significant other, and even opportunities to participate in a flash mob!
