The Czech startup Guidilo proudly announces the launch of Guidilo.com, an online platform that connects travelers with Prague’s local people, allowing tourists to experience this beautiful city through the eyes of its inhabitants. Having a very friendly user interface, this new website enables tourists to book organically, get customized tours and meet like-minded people with whom they can share their interests in a way that goes beyond traditional tourism.

There is no rule that travelers must stroll the Charles Bridge when they visit Prague. There are many more interesting bridges (even with a beautiful view of Prague Castle), hidden treasures and beautiful buildings that represent the true soul of this vibrant European city.

“Guidilo believes a friendly local guide will give you the best insider tips and recommendations for authentic, off the beaten path sites and pay attention only to you and your needs,” says Tereza Vítková, one of the co-founders of Guidilo.

Instead of strolling the Prague Castle with thousands of other tourists, the local guides can take travelers up to the Castle on a different path, used by them on a daily basis to avoid crowds on their way home. Locals are proud of the„ City of a Hundred Spires” and are willing to reveal all its wonders to foreign travelers. As a matter of fact, that’s the main reason they join Guidilo.com as local guides, besides making money by doing what they love most.

“If you consider yourself to be a traveler rather than a tourist, that means experiencing a country and its culture from the inside, rather than simply taking pictures of it as it passes by your tour bus window,” says Eva Belokostolska, the other co-founder.

The idea of Guidilo was born by Eva Belokostolská and Tereza Vítková in late summer 2013. Eva was always in love with traveling, while Tereza has relatives and friends all around the world. The ever increasing number of questions about what, when, how or where in Prague received from their friends gave them the impulse to create a platform that would allow other people to discover the real beauty of Prague. They understood that travelers were fed up with traditional mass tourism and tourist clichés and wanted to offer them an entirely different experience.

Guidilo encourages travelers to collect moments, not things. That means having fun, visiting cool spots that no guide talks about and enjoying unforgettable moments!
