Medical freezer and its types
Proper storing of perishable medical items such as vaccinations, pharmaceutical drugs, pathology samples and other medical related chemicals is needed for proper usage of the same and the storage units where these items are stored in lower temperature than the surrounding temperature are known as medical freezers.
Kinds of freezers
As freezers are a needed part of medical stores, laboratories and hospitals for storage of medical items and thus come in various sizes and shapes. Depending on the availability of space different sizes of freezers can be bought. The different kinds of freezers depending upon the availability of space include: wall mounted freezers, counter top freezers, under the counters freezers, standalone refrigerators, and two door refrigerators. Other than space availability kinds of freezers, there is another kind of freezer which lowers the level of humidity and is known as low humidity freezers.
Two or more door refrigerators

The first kinds of refrigerators are two door or multiple door/ cabinets refrigerators which are also known as combination refrigerators. These refrigerators have different cabinets for refrigerating items and freezing items. These refrigerators are standalone units and do not require much space. The refrigerating units have different doors for the different compartments and also have different temperature controlling panels. The refrigerators have automatic defrosting option and have different temperature display panels.

Under-counter and counter-top freezers

The laboratories and the medical stores which do not have much area space opt for these under counter and counter top freezers. These freezers are space efficient and are small in size. They can be placed anywhere, be it under the counter, on the counter top or can be placed on any corner cabinet top or on wooden stool. These refrigerators are free standing units and have temperature control panel and defrosting system. Both manual and automatic defrosting options are available in these freezers. Due to its small size, there is a fluctuation in temperature level and the level of temperature has to be set at every interval. While buying compact size freezers it should be kept in mind that there is enough space for the freezers to function properly and for people to handle and clean the freezer conveniently.

Low humidity refrigerators

Other than the space convenient refrigerators, few other medical freezers are designed which helps in keeping the humidity level of the air inside the insulated compartment of the freezers lower than the surrounding humid temperature. These refrigerators are known as low humidity refrigerators and they are used mostly in laboratories and storage places where the door of the freezers are opened and closed frequently. Constant opening and closing of doors can lead to moisture seepage inside the freezer. These refrigerators have the option of automatic or manual defrost system which helps the freezer from not over drying its contents. Low humidity freezers are used in those laboratories where strict humidity controlling is needed for storing important medical items. But less humidity tend to over dry things, thus defrost system is required to stop the freezer mechanism from over drying the items.
