Albert Cyprys to Work Towards Helping Youth with Skateboarding

Albert Cyprys has grown up watching the sport of skateboarding go from an alternative hobby into a mainstream sport. He believes that skateboarding can be used as a tool.

Albert Cyprys is proud to announce that he uses skateboarding to help youth and teenagers to become better and more mature people. Skateboarding to this end is approached the same way as a sport is approached to teach children life lessons.

Skateboarding began its life with a negative view by much of society. The sport and those who participated in it were seen as delinquents and troublemakers by the majority of society. Skateboarding had a rebellious side to it that Albert Cyprys remembers very well. Over the past twenty years, skateboarding has undergone a total perspective change for the general public.

Now skateboarding is relatively mainstream and accepted by communities around the country. Albert Cyprys plans to use this acceptance to create programs centered on skateboarding youth. Creating safe and organized skateboarding events provides structure to kids that may not have any in their life. It also creates the opportunity for adults and other community members to be able to reach skateboarders and mentor them into better people.

Albert Cyprys believes that when approached properly, skateboarding can be used to teach kids the importance of discipline, respect, confidence, and practice, among many other lessons. It can also bring youth who want to be outsiders into the community more by creating opportunities for the community to acknowledge the activity of skateboarders.

Asked about how skateboarding can help the youth, Albert Cyprys stated, "If you approach skateboarding like any youth sport you realize that it has all of the same elements. People can learn from one another and coaches and supporters have a chance to teach kids more than just how to skateboard or how to play baseball. They can teach important life lessons."
