West Des Moines, IA - Plaza Dental Group, one of West Des Moines’ premier, full-service dental practices, is encouraging kids to get as much candy as possible this Halloween season to support their second annual “Candy Buy Back for the Troops” Program. This event encourages kids to donate their Halloween candy for a good cause and make a little bit of money for themselves at the same time. Last year was the first year Plaza Dental Group offered the buy back candy program and the response was so good that they’ve decided to make it an annual endeavor.
“We were really positively overwhelmed by the excitement and energy from all of the kids that donated their candy”, said Dr. Steffany Mohan, DDS and founder of Plaza Dental. “Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and knowing that those same smiles would be on so many soldiers who would receive their candy, made it so worthwhile. We knew we had to do it again this year.”
Stop by Plaza Dental located at 1089 Jordan Creek Parkway, Suite 100 in West Des Moines on November 3rd and 4th from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm to participate. Candy will only be accepted on the two days of the buy back and no appointment is needed.
“This will be the one time of year where you’ll hear a dentist say ‘get all of the candy you can’, laughs Dr. Mohan. “But joking aside, this is a great way for kids to actively participate in Halloween with a goal in mind to earn money for all of the candy they donate. We think it’s a win/win for everyone.”
