The day before, Bilalov was detained at his home in Miami by the US Department of Customs and Immigration Services US Homeland Security. Media informed that the reason for the detention of the Russian politician is unknown. The Interpol spokesman stated that she also had no information about the detention of Mr. Bilalov. The question was whom Akhmed Bilalov crossed the road, and who was after him?

A criminal case against Akhmed Bilalov was initiated in Russia in 2013 under the 201 clause of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Exceeding Authority or Official Powers”. The successful Russian businessman and respected politician was accused of unreasonable travel expenses of the leadership of the North Caucasus Resorts. Many Russian politicians and businessmen are charged on the same 201 clause, and very often those charges are falsified. This is called Russian politics.

While holding the post of vice-president of the Russian Olympic Committee, Akhmed Bilalov traveled very frequently to Europe and other parts of the world for business. In his position, he was entitled to use the private jet for his travels. However, taking into consideration that information, Bilalov paid for the flight to London from his pocket, and he was still accused of spending unreasonably 3 million rubles on his trip. This fact was later proven in trial. The vice-president of the Russian Olympic Committee, flew to London on a private jet to present the project of the North Caucasus Resorts tourism cluster, which took place as part of the Summer Olympic Games in London. Many influential people gathered for the presentation.

Akhmed Bilalov is an active politician with a human approach. Such characters are not always welcomed in politics. Sometimes it becomes very controversial; one day you are in favor, and the next day you are eliminated. First, Bilalov received a letter of gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and after the inner circle of the current president started talking about the claims of the state against the business of Bilalov's relative. Russian businessman Ziyavudin Magomedov, Akhmed Bilalov was removed from his positions, and later, so that he did not interfere, they put together the criminal case.

Until the moment of his detention, Akhmed Bilalov lived peacefully in the United States with his family. The situation changed dramatically in the fall of 2019. After the disastrous elections of “United Russia” to the Moscow City Duma, it became obvious to the Russian elite that global changes awaited the country and that changes in the current Constitution of the Russian Federation would soon follow. It is easy to guess that some people needed to be eliminated from the picture.

During Akhmed Bilalov's trial, a federal judge determined the accusations to be wrongful and brought forward by the Russian authorities for political persecution and pressure on
Akhmed Bilalov to illegally seize all the assets of the Russian businessman, as was done with Magomedov brothers.

By order of the federal judge, Akhmed Bilalov was released from custody and all the charges against him in America were dropped as well as his name removed from the Interpol wanted list.
