The most common cause in the deterioration of the ecosystem includes bad air quality, which occurs due to the excessive quantity of harmful gases, particles and biological molecules present in the atmosphere. It may lead to various problems related to diseases, allergies even may result in the death of humans and harm others living organisms as well. Air pollutant is like a material mixed in the air and causes adverse effects on human’s life. It can be in the form of solid particles, liquid droplets and hazardous gases.
Air pollutant can be of natural origin or man-made. Pollutants consist of various gases like carbon monoxide from motor vehicles, Sulphur dioxide from factories, the Ground level zone from the ozone layer. There are various locations, activities which are responsible for causing pollution. Air pollution risk is a function of a hazardous environment. It signifies to be harmful to the entire populations. Air pollution may cause pollution particles to sweep indoors where people spend the majority of their time.
Maintenance of air quality at places of work:
Air quality at work is another indoor environment which causes air quality related problems. Working in offices and various workplaces are quite similar to a place like indoor houses. Building materials, carpets, tobacco smoke, cleaning offices products and ventilation are the same as the home indoor air quality. However, some indoor air quality problems, such as scents, fragrances, cleaning solvents, automobile exhaust, can be more common to the workplace. Poor indoor air quality can cause allergies and lung ailments like asthma, irritation in eyes, nose, throat, etc.
Air quality at work affects the health of well-being and lead to a poor work performance along with less productivity and it eventually leads to missed work and loss of income. Management should take responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Analysis of Indoor air quality
Indoor air quality analysis refers to the air quality within and around the atmosphere. It is known for the health, comfort, wellness and well-being of a person. The major source of indoor air quality analysis in developing countries is the burning of biomass like wood, charcoal, dung, etc. There are few common pollutants such as smoke i.e. tobacco smoke which affects people’s health as well as the environment.
Sampling of Indoor air quality
Air testing is done for specific chemical gases, particles and compounds. It is an investigative tool used to identify the nature of the quantity of contaminated air and other contaminant sources that affect indoor air quality. This article provides guidance for preparing sampling locations and collecting samples for analysis of the interpretation of data. It may include steps like pre-sampling, preparation of buildings, product analysis, collection and analysis of samples. Initially, Indoor air quality sampling started from pre-sampling that includes testing of the product inventory and the entire building, each room on the floor of the building being tested. Preparation of samples of the buildings signifies activities related to the release of volatile chemicals that needs to be controlled. Thereafter, the collection of samples and indoor air quality sampling analysis is done.
