Some filters are reusable and washable, but they require meticulous maintenance, so we don't usually find them on the most effective air purifiers.
Alpine Air Purifiers use a proprietary blend of technologies that combines two different types of ionization along with activated oxygen to purify indoor air. Alpine Air Purification System covers utilizing both activated oxygen and negative ions. Alpine Air Purifiers can oxidize the molecules which cause odours that could contaminate indoor air and aggravate allergic reactions such as sneezing, sinus and ear irritations, asthma and itchy eyes by significantly reducing chemical gases, paint fumes, tobacco smoke, fungi and mold.
Vollara Air purifiers function by electrically discharging an abundance of activated oxygen (O3) in the air. These same discharges also create an abundance of negative ions in the air. Negative ion generation is referred to as the “Thunderstorm Effect”.
Reusable filters are generally better at removing larger particles from the air, like dust mites and pollen. The ultraviolet filters on the market, which often claim to destroy biological impurities like mold or bacteria, but they require higher wattage and greater exposure to be effective.
We should keep in mind that if we drive in a sandy or dusty area, our filter will likely need to be changed more often than the recommended time frame for our vehicle. If our owner’s manual says that it’s time to replace the filter, it’s best to take care of the replacement, rather than wait until we start seeing other problems.
Other air purifiers by the Air Purifier Repair Center use ionizers to help attract particles like static — negative ions bond to dust and allergens and make them settle out of the air. If we are interested in buying an air cleaner that uses ionizers, make sure it does not produce ozone, a gas made up of three oxygen atoms that is often marketed as helping break down pollutants, because ozone could be a lung irritant and further aggravate asthma conditions. Usually the air purifiers with ozone will have that listed on packaging or in the marketing descriptions.
