Components of injection molds

Nozzle or spruce bushing- Nozzle is the tip from where the molten plastic leaves the barrel of injection unit and transferred to the mold for solidification. The main function spruce bushing is to align the nozzle to the mold.

Feed system- It is the section of mold which provide flow-path to the molten plastic. It is divided into cold runner system and hot runner system.

Mold cavities- The cavities are the shaped section of mold tool where the molten plastic sets and take the design of final product.

Cooling system- Cooling system serves to dissipate the heat of the molten plastic to obtain the hard plastic product. Fast and uniform cooling is necessary to obtain economical and quality production respectively.

Guide pillars- Guide pillars and pins are function as a guide to cavity and core before the mold is closed to ensure better compression molding.

Ejector system- Ejector system is used to push the plastic part out of the mold cavity after solidification. Other core part machining and finishing process is completed after ejection.
