How to troubleshoot Low Clicks related issues in the AdWords Account?

It is one of the most important questions that Analysts are asked when they apply for job in any AdWords PPC or Digital Marketing Companies.

 
There can be several reasons behind low clicks in the AdWords account. Certainly, there is no one size fits all solution for to troubleshoot these issues. One have to check the the complete AdWords account i.e. targeting methods, Bidding, Approval Status, low Search volume or Low Quality Score or Billing issues.

• Poor Marketing Strategy – Audience Targeted are irrelevant.
• Ads are not compelling, catchy to attract the attention of the users.
• Check the Ad Position, low Ad Position generally results in low clicks.
• Context of placements might have been irrelevant to ads message.
• Keyword themes badly constructed, possible mistargeting.
Note, the motive of the ad is to attract clicks and bridge the gap between the search term of the user and the website of the advertiser. If the ads are attracting clicks then the Ad is doing its job.
If the ads are not getting clicks then check the Ad Position. If the Ad is appearing at the right side (Please know, No Right Side ads any more on SERP) or the bottom then increase the Ad Position by increasing the Ad Rank i.e. Increase Bid and Quality Score and use Ad Extensions. If everything is fine then increase the Budget, coz your Budget may not be sufficient to bring more clicks.
If the ads are getting clicks and not getting conversions, then check the website. If website is perfect then see if all the clicks are relevant.
If the ads are getting impressions at good positions and still not getting clicks then change the ads messaging and make it more enticing and compelling that it can attract a click from the user.
In the Display Network, then remove the placements that don’t perform well with the ads message. Check the targeting you employed for campaigns targeting Display Network Campaign.
