THE ABOUT LIVING JOURNEY STARTED IN 2006 WHEN OWNER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR GARY HOGAN FOUND A DEFICIENCY IN THE WEST OF SCOTLAND'S MARKET FOR A CURATE RANGE OF INSPIRED HOMEWARE & GIFTS.

October 2006 saw the opening of the first store. The website is undergoing its most significant makeover to date, nearly 16 years later, with the introduction of more than 40 new brands and categories, including furniture, lighting, and upscale animal accessories.

Gary began his career in retail after working behind the scenes in movies and television. Given that he was raised in a family company, it was just a matter of time until he decided to adhere to in his papa's footprints and open his very own firm. Gary continues to lead the company's purchasing department with a sharp eye for the newest designs and products.

The brands that About Living carries is always expanding, and we are thrilled to welcome some new brands to the family, such as Baobab Collection, Blomus, Jonathan Adler, Menu, Noble Isle, Indigenous Union, and Ortigia Sicilia.

We draw inspiration from emerging global interior and gift concepts. We are always investigating emerging trends that emerge from the most recent interior design shows and fashion runways. Our buyers trip across the globe to source our current collections and cultivate connections with our brand associates. This season's botanical styles, which integrate exotic succulents with vibrant colours, and the underrated beauty of marble and rock interior accents are both extremely appealing to us.
