With offices located in the center of the prestigious business district of Orange County, Joel Barretto CFP® proudly announces his involvement as founding board member and officer of COTIFA created to promote and advocate trade and investment between the USA and Philippines.

Joel Barretto, a Certified Financial Planner® and an Investment Advisor Representative with ING Financial Partners, has several years experience providing financial planning services to individuals and businesses in Southern California. It is with strong financial background that he hopes to fortify his new position as Secretary and Board Member of the Council on Trade and Investments for Filipino-Americans (“COTIFA”).

Under the guidance of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Los Angeles CA in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate office, COTIFA is the first organization of it’s kind to establish a collaboration between the private sector and the Philippine government sector toward a common goal.

During their induction ceremony at the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel in Buena Park CA on May 3, 2012, Joel Barretto was sworn in by Philippine Consul General Mary Jo Aragon to office as Secretary to COTIFA. In his address to a crowd of CEOs and entrepreneurs, Mr. Barretto invited Filipino Americans to join COTIFA in it’s plight to help develop and grow the Philippine economy through their efforts, starting with becoming a member of COTIFA.

Joel Barretto received his Bachelor of Science Degree from San Beda College in Manila Philippines in 1986 and his CFP® designation from the State of California’s Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in 2006. Additionally, he founded his company, Abacus Financial Network in 1999 and offers securities and investment advisory services through ING Financial Partners.

In his spare time, Joel enjoys golf, tennis, swimming, volleyball, soccer and holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kempo martial arts.
