Manufactured homes have been all the rage for the last fifty years, though there are still some people who seem to have no idea what they are. To put it quite simply, a manufactured home is a factory built home that encompasses all of the typical qualities of a regular home, but is most often elongated or fairly small and designed to be moved with a truck so that it can be placed upon a foundation. The installation is quick and easy, without a doubt, but sometimes the interior can be a bit lacking, especially If it was built several years ago. In most cases, these structures will use a faux wood paneling reminiscent of the 1970’s which is cheap and effective but certainly not aesthetically pleasing if you have any sort of taste. That being said, it would be a good idea to replace it, though what should you replace it with? The most obvious material is going to be drywall, but that can be very expensive and it doesn’t look great in a confined space. Well it looks okay, but it honestly looks a bit too generic, even if you decide to paint it or throw some wallpaper up over it. It’s just not a great investment, especially if you want to go for something a bit more unique. That being said, you might want to consider weathered knotty pine paneling for your next remodeling job in a manufactured home.

Use Weathered Knotty Pine Paneling for your Home Interior

There are many benefits to using this type of wood for your interior, the first being that it is absolutely beautiful. Wood paneling, particularly knotty pine wood paneling looks incredible and gives you that rustic cabin look without needing to go through all the trouble of actually building a log cabin. To be perfectly honest, this type of paneling does a great job of transporting you to a different time and place whether you are in the middle of the country or on the middle of a neighborhood – it’s all applicable, and it will be amazing no matter what.

If you’re ready to install wood paneling in your manufactured home then you are going to need to start by removing the existing panels whether they are drywall or the manufactured wood panels that so many of these homes come standard with. Once you have completed the removal process you will be able to hang the new panels, though you should of course take the opportunity to make sure the home is properly insulated, and if not, go ahead and replace it as you will rarely, if ever have the wall open to the air again. After that, you’re going to be ready to perform this highly important installation for your manufactured home.
