Presently, Express Entry is the main source to process PR applications in Canada for facilitating immigration. Moreover, it has come a long way from Jan 2015 when it commenced its work. It is used to administer the candidates who apply for immigration. These are:
 Federal Skilled Trades Class
Federal Skilled Worker Class
Canadian Experience Class
Important Features of the draws
In its 100 draws, it has issued 213,000 invitations for Canadian PR. Candidates get a rank, and the persons with a high rank get success in the invitation rounds that happen at timely intervals. These Candidates receive an Invitation and get 60 days to submit PR application to the authorities. 80 percent applications pass the process stage in six months.
The pool covering the candidates is a rich source of PR applications for the Immigration Plan, of the country introduced in Nov 2017. The admissions of the principal applicants/family members, is on the path of growth. The figures are:
9,800 in 2015,
33,415 in 2016
65,420 in 2017
As on July 31 Express Entry admissions for 2018 are 61,710.
Canada wishes to admit 74,900 aspirants during 2018. The Plan target in 2019 is 81,400 and 85,800 in 2020.
Focus on human capital
It meets the immigration priorities. I.R.C.C. has a fresh approach for these rounds. There is evolution, in the 100 draws, in jobs of the professionals receiving an invitation.
For the initial two years, Cooks and Food Service Supervisors were the top five occupations. Additionally, in 2017 the top five occupations were:
 Information  Analysts /Consultants,
Software Engineers,
Computer Programmers and Developers,
Financial Accountants/Auditors
Adm. Assistants
Government decides to reduce C.R.S. points for Job offers
This shift follows a decision, in Nov 2016, for reducing score points having a job offer. Depending on the position, they were 50 or 200 from the earlier 600. In the 2017 Report on the system, authorities stated that the aim of reduced points for a Job Offer was to prioritize the candidates who work in skilled areas.
The score of a candidate is based on human capital factors. It covers:
 Age ,
Work experience
Language proficiency,
Education
These factors are worth 600 points.
Principal beneficiaries of Express Entry
S.W.C and C.E.C Candidates were the principal beneficiaries. Invitations to F.S.W.C. candidates increased to 41,364 in 2017 from 8,332 in 2016.
Furthermore Invitations issued to Experience Class candidates increased to 35,020 in 2017 from 15,102 in 2016.
There were modifications in the scores in Nov 2016. Before that, candidates receiving an Invitation had a score below 400. That trend continues now where minimum score ranges between 440 and 456. 20 draws were held in 2018, and 14 had C.R.S. between 440 and 444.
Canada has a robust plan to admit immigrants. Its target for future is huge. There is a hope of a series of large draws in 2018.
