Being the member of Criminal Investigation Branch in 2001, Varun Naidu conducted drug and major case management. He also served the role of primary investigator and file coordinator in files including marijuana grow operations, homicides, and other violent offences.

Apart from this, he has been the part of emergency response team where he conducted high risk operations that fell outside the skills, knowledge and abilities of regular members such as warrant service, barricaded persons and hostage rescue. Later on, Varun was selected as the Team Leader of the Emergency response Team where he supervised all tactical operations and coordinated training. Besides, Varun is highly competent in emergency management.

Serving as a sergeant in Delta Police Drug Section, Varun supervised seven constables in the areas of drug investigations. He also provided the oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies within the team in order to reduce the impact of drugs in the community through education, enforcement, and community partnership. Apart from this, he supervised all administrative matters and managed an annual budget of $932,000 that included wages and benefits.

Pertaining to his education credentials, Varun graduated from the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Education. Pertaining to the awards he has received, he won the Oliver Thompson Memorial Award at the Police Academy.

During his free time, Varun Naidu loves to watch sports especially NFL. Besides, he regularly goes to gym and has travelled a lot along with his family. Soon, he will join the Porsche club. he is quite fond of reading and watching movies.

Varun Naidu has been the inspector in charge of Operational Support Branch where he managed Traffic Section, Vulnerable Sector, Community Policing, Victim Services, Community Relations and School Liaison Units. It was his responsibility to ensure that the Operational Support Branch was adequately resourced and managed.

In September 2017, Varun served in Inspector Strategic Services Branch where he conducted reviews and coordinated special projects for the Department. He also supervised the Emergency Management Section and the Victim Services Unit.
