Involving the discipline of dealing with and avoiding risks, emergency management is the dynamic process of preparing for, mitigating, responding to and recovering from an emergency. Indeed, an effective emergency management relies on the integration of emergency plans at all levels of government and non-government, including individuals and community organizations.

Holding a core competency in emergency management, Varun Naidu served as an investigator, supervisor, manager, and executive. Apart from emergency management, he is highly proficient in change management, supervisor, investigations, leadership, conflict resolution, report writing, court testimony, and team building.
With hands-on expertise and being a part of Delta Police Department, Varun possesses a vast experience in operational policing. He served at multiple positions with a diverse background in Patrol Division, Drug Section, Criminal Investigation Branch, Emergency Response, Team, and Community Policing. She supervised 200 sworn officers, 73 support staff, and over 200 volunteers. Besides, he operated an annual budget of 34 million dollars. Being the part of management team, he worked collaboratively with Delta Police Association and the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Apart from this, Varun Naidu gained adequate expertise and skills to be a part of Emergency Response Team where he conducted high risk operations that fell outside the skills, knowledge, and abilities of regular members such as warrant service, barricaded persons and hostage rescue.

Pertaining to his education credentials, Varun graduated from the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Education. Pertaining to the awards he has received, he won the Oliver Thompson Memorial Award at the Police Academy. During his free time, he loves to watch sports especially NFL. Besides, he regularly goes to gym and has travelled a lot along with his family. Soon, he will join the Porsche club. He is quite fond of reading and watching movies.
