What's it actually like attending the Burberry show?

I wouldn't exactly say that I'm into fashion. Sure, I can appreciate a good cut and fabric - I'd certainly buy the bulk of my wardrobe from designers if I could (and I've wanted a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag for what feels like a very long time) but I'm not massively fussed about attending fashion shows. That is, apart from the Burberry one. For some reason this has always been a bucket list goal for me. Perhaps it's because the clothes are, admittedly, bloody great or the production is always flawless or maybe it's because it's not only a heavyweight brand adorned by celebrities and mortals alike but also because it's British. Today, I ticked it off and here's what I discovered:

It's just as much fun watching the audience as it is the models. They're the cream of the fashion crop. Some outrageous, some as "fashion" as you'll get, some just plain chic but best of all, some ordinary - sadly a bracket I fall into. Until the lights go on, this provides you with time to wonder how they got their golden seat. I came up with a few great backstories for them, I'm sure they'll be thrilled to know.

As the old saying goes, you shouldn't worry too much about what you wear - no one is looking at you. Thankfully this provided a serious blessing today having legged it over from Lancaster Gate only to realise I'm even more unfit than previously thought. Red. Sweat. Shame.

When you're watching the models, it's hard not to pair the garments to a celebrity you think will wear it. Case in point below. Don't you think this aviator jacket would look fly onDakota Johnson?

You'll see more of the show through the person in front's phone. EVERYONE is filming. Those trying to get their shot have no shame about head bobbling in order to avoid the silhouettes of shoulders creeping into the bottom of their Insta snap… Distracting, yes, but mildly amusing too.

It's over quicker than you think. The show is literally 10 minutes, then everyone bails to their next engagement. You can't help but be like, "seriously, THIS entire set for only ten minutes?!" But, I get it. Places to be, people to see…
