This type of glass is specially made by mixing minerals with standard glass. The mineral could be boron or zinc. Ceramic glass heating is also used for making retardant glass. The advantage of this process is that one can manufacture glass with different melting points and different capacities to handle temperature.

Apart from the retardant glass gaskets are also used to seal stove doors and as a result, the combustion chambers. Ceramic rope seals can be used for sealing the gap between the glass and the doorframe. What one has to ensure is that the gasket seals the entire structure completely so that the chamber is actually airtight. This is when the same amount of fuel can make temperature soar from 240°C to 600°C. Since one wouldn’t require so much of heat they can use lesser amount of fuel. This would mean saving on fuel cost and also saving the natural resources.

Stoves need proper maintenance. The stove doors, the retardant glass, the gaskets and the other parts of stoves need to be cleaned and inspected regularly.
