1. Aadhaar is an individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on behalf with the Government of India to individuals for the purpose of establishing the special identity of each single individual.

2. The Aadhar number will serve as a proof of identity and address anywhere in India.

3. The objective in the project is always to collect biometric (photograph, iris-scan, fingerprints) and demographic data of residents (residence address details), shop them in a centralised database, and issue a 12-digit exclusive identity number named Aadhaar to each resident.

4. Aadhaar is meant for folks of any age (which includes kids) for the goal of establishing identities.

5. Aadhaar is for folks, hence each member in the family requirements to have a separate one particular.

6. Aadhaar is voluntary based and any individual who's serious about having Aadhaar number for himself/herself can enroll or apply to get Aadhaar number.

7. An individual will be provided with only one distinctive Aadhaar number and not multiple unique ID numbers.

8. Aadhaar number might be valid for the full life of an individual and does not must be changed or renewed from time-to-time.

9. Someone can get his/her Aadhaar number absolutely free of cost.
