CombatCon™ the world’s leading convention, fueled by real martial artists, combatants and stunt professional announced “from page to stage” contest and presentation to be held at Las Vegas, USA, to inform writers to submit their favorite original fight scene. The winner will have the scene choreographed and performed by stunt professionals at CombatCon 2018 in Las Vegas.

CombatCon™ is a must-attend event for writers concerned with authenticity and realism in their fights and for their combative characters. CombatCon™ is extremely proud to offer a dedicated Writers Track in which participants may take academic classes, attend panels and presentations, join in hands-on martial arts classes, handle real weapons and armor, talk with practicing martial artists, and watch their fights turn into reality by professional stage and stunt fighters.

Take classes, attend panels and presentations, watch demonstrations, fight in or watch Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) tournaments, peruse vendors, participate in thematic programing and have yourself an incredible time.

Attendees are expected to submit their favorite fight scene, and the winner will have the scene choreographed and performed by stunt professionals. The scene will be broken down and critiqued by the panel of authors and fight coordinators. The winner can ask questions and be shown ways to make the scene work, physically and literally.

Here are the requirements for entry into the contest;

Must be registered and attend CombatCon™ – Writer’s Track at time of entry.
Submit no more than 2 pages (single spaced) from published or unpublished work.
No more than 6 characters in the scene.
Include 1 paragraph bio, per character, describing characters physical and personality attributes.
No weapons that can’t be simulated easily (unless you bring them yourself).
A sense of humor and a thick skin. All authors require both.
