The start of Fashion Week marks the beginning of stress and chaos for models as they rush from various castings to walking on booked shows to long nights of after-parties. You’d never physically be able to see these models looking run-down as a result of their hectic schedules, and that’s thanks to their own personalised Fashion Week skincare routines they adopt to look fresh-faced as though they’ve had hours and hours of sleep, helping them achieve healthy and glowing skin regardless of how tired or stressed they are during the week. With London Fashion Week approaching soon, we decided to round up all the skincare tips and tricks recommended by models to keep their skin looking the best it possibly can!
DRY, DEHYDRATED SKIN

One of the most common things models look to avoid during the week is dry and dehydrated skin. Skin that lacks moisture often ends up looking dull, which is definitely the opposite of the skin models want to present to casting agents as it could hinder their chances of booking a show. To avoid having dull and dry skin, many models look towards hydrating and glow-inducing skincare products; which would nourish skin and give it a soft glow. One of the most commonly used skincare ingredients to hydrate skin is Hyaluronic Acid. The acid is naturally found in our bodies, and adding more topically onto the skin would just pull more moisture into our skin’s cells, which results in plumper hydrated skin. To achieve a glow to the skin, models often look for products that contain antioxidants. Antioxidants work to fight against the free radicals that cause oxidative stress to our skin to increase cell turnover and restore radiance.

MZ Skin’s Lift & Lustre Golden Elixir Antioxidant Serum is a concentrated serum (which is basically liquid gold) rich in stem cells, botanical extracts, and Hyaluronic Acid all of which deeply hydrates, protects skin against oxidative damage while restoring radiance– instantly. You could say this product kills two birds, with one stone!

DARK CIRCLES, TIRED EYES

Having healthy-looking skin is great, but nothing gives away how stressed or tired you are more than your eyes. Dark circles and sunken under-eyes are the biggest give away of skin that is tired or skin that undergoes regular oxidative stress. And so, the next biggest skincare tip followed religiously by all models would be; investing in good eye masks and creams.

MZ Skin’s Hydra-Bright Golden Eye Treatment Mask is perfect for a quick fix before events, which in this case would be castings and runway shows. The mask is saturated with active ingredients to brighten, hydrate and improve the elasticity of the skin surrounding our eyes. Models often use eye-masks at the start of the day, or whilst getting their makeup done for a show to achieve instant brightness under their eyes.

Additionally, to follow up on eye-care post masks, it is recommended to use a good under-eye cream after moisturizing skin. Many assume that the moisturizer used for their faces would be sufficient for their eyes as well, however this is not the case as the skin around our eyes is the thinnest and most delicate of our face, and so requires extra care to maintain brightness, whilst reducing puffiness, lines and any other issues in the eye area.

MZ Skin’s DePuff & Define Contouring Eye Rescue contains high potency caffeine and peptides to counteract puffiness, whilst firming the skin and boosting pigmentation.
