Durga Puja is one of the most important festivals for the people in Bengal. But with time, it became a national phenomenon that celebrates the power of a woman. It is that time of the year when women, irrespective of their language, prefer to wear traditional sarees meant for the auspicious occasion of Durga puja. These sarees are a bit different from the traditional or designer sarees one can generally buy from the offline or online market.
Sujatra, has added a wide collection of these special sarees in their product range.
Here are some of those speciality sarees from Sujatra..
• Kalamkari sarees – This is a very ancient style of hand painting done with a tamarind pen, using natural dyes. It’s a form of storytelling using motifs of flowers, peacock, paisleys, etc. These hand-painted artforms when designed as a saree become rare and unique.
• Madhubani sarees – The paintings in this most exquisite saree are done with a variety of tools including fingers, twigs, brushes, nib pens, matchsticks, and using natural dyes and pigments.
• Ajrakh sarees – This is an intricate and exclusively handcrafted block printing technique that came to Kutch from Sindh about 400 years ago. Ajrakh is very colourful and bright and these are used as combinations to come out with an elegant and subtle look
• Ikat sarees – are made by Odisha's traditional artists. It is a tie-dye technique used to create designs on the fabric. This fabric is used to create stunning sarees which has a timeless elegance about it.
• Khun Sarees – This is a traditional weave that has its origins in Maharashtra and Karnataka which has vibrant designs and intricate weaves. This may have been forgotten in the space of fashion for some decades now, but has made a strong come back through these beautiful sarees

• Handpainted sarees – Beautiful paintings are done by independent artists from Chattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

• Festive collection – Specific festive collections in Benarasi, tussar silk, pure silk form a part of this collection
The company recently added a few feathers in its corporate cap. -
• An entire collection for Work From Home requirement – The advent of the pandemic led to the popularity of the WFH concept in India. Now, Sujatra didn’t stop when total or state-wise lockdown was imposed in the nation. They teamed up and created a complete collection of kurtis and Jewellery keeping in mind the emerging requirement which received an exciting response
• The collection of sarees made wider with prices starting from 3000 going up to 5000 to make these exclusive designer products available at affordable prices.
