Shaneisha Dodson has launched a crowdfunding campaign. Her goal is to turn her protagonist from her childrens' book The Adventures of Sugamama into a superhero doll. The book is about a little girl who wakes up in the middle of the night and finds out that she is a superhero.

After researching black dolls, Dodson learned that many parents are not happy with the current selection of dolls. Their biggest complaints are the appearance and the unrealistic features. Dodson is working hard to change this. Therefore, she decided to bring her main character Sugamama to life.
