The Winds of Fate or Competence Resolved

News Years Resolutions hold our hopes and dreams. We can learn how to create them into our lives.

January carries a lot of weight.  We heap all our hopes and dreams for the future onto it, and sweep our failed dreams, our failed hopes under it.What is this phenomenon, this habit of the human race?  We have this desire to stop in some way and take an accounting. This gives us a minuteto start something new, or to take a new perspective on what we already have going on. Some of us feel like we can be separate from time for a while, kind of float above the the franticness of the world, maybe just a touch outside this universe.  From there we look and make choices aboutthe future. What will we chase; what will we create? What are our New Year's Resolutions?
Then we, what? Throw it to the winds of fate and hope for the best? Perhaps just a touch of reality, of "how to", of competence, would serve to help us make our hopes and dreams real in the world. We can also choose to be skilled and able to create in a field of endeavor. We can observe, then, and use our skills to create in the direction of our goals. So much for relying on the fates or random luck.  You can cause your own future. "The true 'gift ofheaven' may have been the potential to be competent.", L. Ron Hubbard.
Celebrate! Any work or creation is vastly more fun when we have the skills needed to achieve our dreams.
