On Monday 4 November 2019, the Church of Scientology of Tampa celebrated the history of Ybor City and showed the way to the future.

Wallace Reyes, Ph. D. of Social Anthropology gave a lecture and tour of the historic buildings of Ybor Square, teaching how Vincente Martinez-Ybor built the largest cigar factory in the world, and thus founded Ybor City. Mr. Martinez-Ybor was the driving force of economic and civic expansion for Ybor City and the surroundings.

The Church of Scientology purchased the Ybor Square buildings in 2010,
and consulted with Dr. Reyes during the restoration/renovation process.
The Church has opened the doors of these buildings to the public since reopening to provide a visible example of history.  The original structure is all there to be seen, along with plaques explaining the unique significance.
There are staff on hand who will gladly answer questions.

This example of maintaining the life and importance of a place while it is daily operation gives hope that American business will take up the viewpoint of history, daily work and the creation of a future coexisting to the benefit of our culture. L. Ron Hubbard said of mankind, "It was not until he learned to think, to value knowledge and apply twitch competent skill that he began to dominate his environment."  It helps to preserve examples of this.

All are welcome at the Church of Scientology of Tampa.
