Letter to Younger Self 2021 and Coronavirus

Taking care of your self all along eases the bumps along the way, especially Coronavirus.

Dear Younger Self,
Thank you for having been so physically active growing up.  I can't tell you how happy I am to have the basic muscle strength and coordination to rely on during these past few years.Your years of work as a dancer have paid off in many ways.  I wish I could say personal discipline was among them, but not so much. I was disciplined as a dancer because it was necessary for the actual joy of the dance, no actual joy of discipline set in. Sigh.  I wish you had arranged that.

But what did set in is an essential vanity. And there is a joy of motion and grace from the dance and water skiing that I treasure.  There is also vanity.  Yes, I am vain.  Partially, just about looking pretty, but more so, I am vain about a certain grace and physical vitality.  When that starts to lag, I get to work.  Sometimes just in small ways, like stretching when I stand up; taking that moment to breathe and lengthen and align the parts for smoother movement.  Sometimes I push into more demanding regimens, For me, though, it is always more Athenian, with grace and art, than Spartan, with strength and punishment. Still, little one, the basics that you put in place, gave me the body strength and stamina to weather some difficulties, including this current Coronavirus. So thank you again.
Love, 68 Year Old Me
L. Ron Hubbard said in The Way To Happiness, "Take care of yourself."  I am sure each of you can think of a way to do just that.  www.thewaytohappiness.org   @waytohappinesstampa--
