Hurricane Dorian devastates the Bahamas and Volunteer Ministers from CSDR (Churches of Scientology Disaster Response) are among the first on the ground to help! To date, over 100,000 people have been individually helped by these Volunteer Ministers.

The CSDR Volunteers brought relief by going door to door in the most devastated areas with hygiene kits, water and food, helping man the food production lines with Royal Cruise Line, providing spiritual care for survivors, responders and care givers, mucking out houses, sawing through trees, debris removal, and the list goes on.

Most noteworthy is the sheer amount of organize and order, the massive amount of food and house hold goods received, unloaded, sorted and distributed to Bahamians who had lost everything, over 30,000 people were served in just two weekends.

The Church of Scientology of Tampa contributed in large part to this effort, supplying manpower and human relations expertise, as well as sending two executives from the Church to stand alongside the Bahamian executives who had lost as much as their citizens.

Working through the US National VOAD (Voluntary Agencies Active in Disasters) the CSDR Volunteer Ministers were invited to Grand Bahama to help asses damage and need, and to work with NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency), the counterpart of the US FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). To date over 100,000 people have been directly by the actions of the CSDR volunteers. This is possible because of the close working relationships established among the volunteers groups through the close working relationships made possible by NEMA.
