Since 2007, the average price of a funeral in the UK has increased from £1920 to £3284 in 2012, and is set to continue to rise to £4906 in 2017. This has fuelled the rise of the pre paid funeral plan market, and now leading funeral plan provider Funeral Planning Services is launching a new pre paid funeral plan called the Liberty Plan, intended to revolutionise the market.

Currently, Funeral Planning Services believe that the market is being misled by the wide range of over 50 life insurance plans, which in most cases do not provide the same peace of mind that a prepaid funeral plan offers when it comes to arranging a funeral.

The Liberty Plan, by Funeral Planning Services aims to deliver peace of mind by offering an easy way to spread the cost of a funeral over several monthly installments, frozen at todays prices to combat the dramatic increase in price of the average funeral. Customers can choose to pay the installments over one to ten years, giving peace of mind that the funeral plans can be paid for in advance. This allows Funeral Planning Services’ customers to better manage their retirement funds, or to leave more behind for their loved ones.

Funeral Planning Services has recently launched a brand new website to help educate customers about the difference between funeral plans and over 50s life cover.

A spokesman for Funeral Planning Services said, “We think it is very important to educate the public about the differences between a funeral plan and an over 50s life cover plan. The two are very different, with different purposes in mind, however unfortunately many people do not know this.”

“Our aim is to build awareness around the differences between the two services and help ensure that elderly people and their loved ones have the peace of mind that their funeral plans are in place in advance, leaving no nasty surprises. We believe a prepaid funeral plan is the best way to achieve this.”

Liberty Funeral Plan customers can be confident that their money is safe, as every payment is safely kept by the Funeral Planning Trust until the time comes that they are needed for the funeral.
