IP Public Addressing System Deployment Plan for Hotels

Posted November 23, 2023 by SPONCommunications

How to deploy a PA system for a hotel, and what features should this PA system have? What products should be deployed in different areas of the hotel? Let's take a look together.

With the development of urban construction, towering buildings and large to medium-sized civil structures have sprung up like mushrooms, becoming symbols of modern cities. The construction of modern hotels, large shopping malls, stations, airports, terminals, sports arenas, and other public spaces is on the rise, necessitating the implementation of corresponding public broadcasting systems.

To meet the diverse needs of modern hotels and create a relaxed working environment, a public address system with background music in areas such as public corridors can be designed and installed. This system can cater to daily background music playback, voice broadcasting, information dissemination, and official notifications. In emergency situations, it can be utilized for fire emergency broadcasts. The following design is proposed based on requirements:

(1) Background Music: The system should offer multiple audio sources for background music broadcasting.

(2) Scheduled Automatic Playback: Background music and daily broadcast notifications can be scheduled for automatic playback of preset audio during specific time periods.

(3) Emergency Broadcasting: In the event of a fire or emergency, it can be used for fire broadcast notifications. Regardless of the volume status of public broadcasting in public or other areas, the system can automatically switch to emergency mode and play different fire broadcasts (evacuation and warning messages) at maximum volume simultaneously in the affected and adjacent areas. The fire broadcast system includes both automatic voice broadcasting (warnings and evacuation messages) and manual broadcasting using fire microphones.

(4) Priority Control: The priority levels, from highest to lowest, are emergency broadcasting, voice broadcasting, and background music broadcasting.

(5) System Self-Check Function: To ensure continuous system operation, the system monitors the working status and changes of all broadcast terminals and provides a display of the current system status.

(6)Volume Control: Room-installed volume controllers allow users to adjust the volume for background music and fire broadcasts.

(1) Develop the hotel infrastructure as a centralized broadcasting hub to enable seamless and unified broadcasting across the entire premises.

(2) Organize the public broadcasting system into distinct functional zones, considering the specific requirements of different areas. Create public broadcasting zones tailored to individual management preferences.

(3)Designate specific areas within the hotel, including the restaurant, hotel corridors, lobby, and underground parking lot, as separate broadcasting zones. Each zone has the capability to independently broadcast local audio sources and make localized announcements. Ensuring no interference between zones, administrative grouping can be employed for efficient zone management.

-01- Broadcasting Center Equipment Room

Configure PA system service software and servers in the broadcasting center to manage and control terminal devices. Install IP network speakers for monitoring broadcast sounds. Set up IP paging microphones for convenient broadcast notifications and designated area paging broadcasts. Additionally, install a fire alarm network interface unit for integration with the fire alarm system.

-02- Broadcasting Sub-Control Center

The sub-control center can be equipped with network paging microphones for initiating broadcasts throughout the entire hotel.

-03- Floor Corridors

Ensure that the corridor broadcast sound coverage has sufficient sound pressure levels. Deploy an IP amplifier + ceiling speaker system. To ensure adjustable volume for corridor speakers, add an audio controller between the amplifier and ceiling speakers to control the volume.

-04- Parking Lot

Ensure sufficient sound pressure level coverage for the hotel parking lot broadcast. Deploy an IP amplifier + high-power column speaker system.

-05- Main Entrance

Install IP network column speakers at both ends of the hotel entrance, capable of receiving background music and sending notifications during emergency broadcasts.
