Bochum, Germany, January 29, 2015 -- Soft Xpansion has released the new versions of two Perfect PDF family members: Perfect PDF 9 Editor and Perfect PDF 9 Converter. Both products are available for download. The included language versions are English, French, Italian and German. Following the release of the Premium and PDF & Print editions in November 2014, the Perfect PDF 9 family now consists of four solutions for various scopes of interest.

Perfect PDF 9 Editor is a solution especially for extensive PDF editing, while Perfect PDF 9 Converter focuses on the conversion of printable content and pages into PDF.

One of the central new features of Perfect PDF 9 Editor: Apart from PDF/A-1, now the creation of PDF/A-2 and of PDF/A-3 files is possible as well. Thus, the scope of PDF/A files created with Perfect PDF 9 Editor is much wider: PDF/A-2 allows transparencies (for example highlighting or special presentations) or JPG2000 as lossless compression format (for photos and other image elements). Moreover, with PDF/A-2, PDF/A files may be embedded into other PDF/A files. Finally yet importantly, layers are allowed, which is for example useful in PDF files that are based on CAD software applications. PDF/A-3 enables the user to embed any file type into PDF/A, not only PDF/A itself. As a result, even the source file may be embedded into PDF/A-3. For example, electronic invoice data in XML format plus its "archive version", a PDF version of the invoice document, may be collected in one single PDF/A-3 file.

The recommended retail prices of the programs (including VAT) are EUR 39,99 for Perfect PDF 9 Editor and EUR 19,99 for Perfect PDF 9 Converter.

Trial Version
Trial versions are available on the Soft Xpansion product pages on the internet. These versions are complete as far as the functionality is concerned. However, they place a watermark ("Soft Xpansion") on all pages that are displayed, created or edited with the programs.

The New Features In Detail
- PDF/A-2 and PDF/A-3: saves PDF/A files not only as PDF/A-1, but also in these two additional PDF/A standards (available in Perfect PDF 9 Editor)
- Genuine 64-bit version: makes use of the full RAM resources available on the PC, which means that a limitation to a maximum of 2 GB that the 32 version can handle no longer applies. Advantages: the program is faster, especially if large PDF files are used and if rendering of high amounts of image data is necessary (Perfect PDF 9 Editor)
- Splits multi-page PDF files into separate PDFs (Perfect PDF 9 Editor)
- The import from form fields based on Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013 files now includes content controls (Perfect PDF 9 Editor)
- Optimizing and revision of the PDF editor (Perfect PDF 9 Editor) and of other functionality
- Improved PDF engine
- Improved PDF reader (New: possibility to select a word by double-clicking)
