Siveco to release new disruptive IoT wearable bluebee® hat

Posted April 1, 2020 by sivecochina

Siveco is proud to announce the release of its latest smart gear innovation, the bluebee® hat.

This new smart gear is the result of two years of research and development at Siveco’s Shanghai R&D center (the bluebee® lab) in close cooperation with leading academic and hardware partners.

The bluebee® hat is part of the bluebee® suite of Smart Operation & Maintenance products. It is designed to seamlessly integrate with third-party solutions such as EAM, ERP and MES. Thanks to advanced IoT and SOA technologies, the bluebee® hat displays alarms, incoming work orders or even real-time KPIs. The bluebee® hat features edge computing and embedded AI to supplement the wearer’s natural abilities.

Since January 1st, the bluebee® hat is already used at the Siveco office. Worn by the company’s R&D manager Wang Tao, the hat connects to Siveco back-office customer support software thanks to the bluebee® sync platform. When a Siveco customer reports a bug, an alarm is displayed on the hat. This practical innovation has resulted is a 12% decrease in the number of bugs per month. Similar improvement is expected in industrial environments.

According to Bruno Lhopiteau, Managing Director of Siveco China:
“The disruptive bluebee® hat opens a blue ocean market for Siveco, that of large multinationals’ Smart Manufacturing initiatives. These multi-year programs are currently in search of renewal after countless proof-of-concept attempts at IoT, AI, Predictive Maintenance, etc. We have already received inquiries from big consulting firms willing to dedicate hundreds of consultants for our projects. The smart money is sure to follow. This is growth hacking at its best.”

During 2020, further development is planned to integrate a buzzing function and a heating pad for field engineers working in colder regions. An explosion-proof ATEX-certified version of the bluebee® hat is also considered.
