Santiago Precious Metals will also shut down certain production facilities in compliance with the Chilean Government to contain the spread of COVID-19 and as a result, all mining operations at RBM will be halted by midnight on Thursday 16th April until the green light is given to re-open.

Santiago Precious Metals will make arrangements for machinery to be taken care of in order to avoid damage to their continuous operations.

Santiago Precious Metals’ Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Francisco Joaquin Montero commented on the current situation saying “The health and safety of our people is Santiago Precious Metals’ only priority at this point in time. We are following the actions of the government to minimize the threat of COVID-19 and we will continue to use any means to reduce the spread of COVID-19.”

“We will work accordingly with the government to comply with the rules and regulations concerning Santiago Precious Metals’ operations. At this time, it is too early to speculate on whether operations will resume for the remainder of this year, but we will hopefully get a timeline on that in due course,” added Francisco Joaquin Montero, Chief Operations Officer of Santiago Precious Metals.
