Santiago Precious Metals will hire a team of locals to raise the dam as part of the next phase of the mine and work will commence in December 2020 and the construction work will aim to be completed in accordance with that license by December 2022.

Santiago Precious Metals’ Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Francisco Joaquin Montero commented on the license saying “This is an important milestone for Santiago Precious Metals and our location site of Incahuasi where we believe our lithium extraction operation in Argentina will reach its full potential. Incahuasi has a long asset life of 50 years and produces a high grade, premium quality product and we expect the Incahuasi mine to produce 20 million tons in 2021.”

“The Incahuasi mine facility will use a downstream construction design and is built using compacted imported earth-fill material, with carefully selected granular materials for the drainage and filter zones. The construction materials are placed in controlled layers. This is a robust and high quality design for the mining facility and we cannot wait to deploy our team out there and start the process,” added Francisco Joaquin Montero, Chief Operations Officer of Santiago Precious Metals.
