Bridgeport, Connecticut- December 9th, 2020, – It’s going to be a weird winter this year. Traditionally it’s the perfect time of year to take advantage of the good winter destinations and take road trips and go camping. But in the amid COVID-19 pandemic, the jury remains out on whether or not it’s really OK to go camping right now. The Center of Disease Control still strongly recommends we all stay home as much as possible. However, state and national parks are slowly starting to allow day use visitors. Some are even reopening campgrounds which earlier were closed to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Increasingly, RVing enthusiasts are looking at self-contained RVs as the perfect way to travel safely during this pandemic. You may even have noticed more and more camper vans, RVs, and teardrop trailers in your neighborhood. RV rental companies also confirm that bookings are on the peak right now.

Before you go for RVing, plan your route ahead of time. You need to do research on your spots before traveling and think ahead about where you are going to stop for the night and for gas and supplies.” Decreasing the number of stops you make reduces the chances of virus transmission points you encounter.
As many of the state parks and campgrounds are gradually opening you need to make reservations in advance. A lot of places making necessary changes to their protocols and limiting how many people can come in, it is in your best interest to check things in advance and make reservations.
Trip Advice: Unless you’ve been quarantining with friends for two weeks prior to your camping trip, it’s probably not a good idea to share a self-contained camper other than family members.
It is best for you to disinfect the RV before you head out. Disinfect the surfaces with an approved cleaning solution, following the directions, and vacuum porous surfaces, laundering if possible.
Maintain Social distance at up most cost. I say it again—stay six feet away from strangers. Maintain your distance from park rangers and campground attendants to protect you, them and your loved ones. Safe camping!
