Ruma Singh opted out of a full-time career as a journalist at India’s top national newspaper to pursue her passion for writing about wine.

12 January 2018: Barolo is the name given to the famous wine which comes from the Langhe region situated in Piedmont, Italy. It is a powerful red wine, which has many admirers and fans around the world.

Well-known wine journalist and expert, Ruma Singh turns her focus on this much-loved wine, known around the world as the ‘Wine of Kings and the King of Wines’, on her wine website, Between the Wines (www.rumasingh.com).
She interviews Anna Abbona, fifth generation owner of the famous Barolo wine producer, Marchesi di Barolo. In a series of 3 short video interviews (also available on her YouTube channel, Talking Wine with Ruma Singh, on which she explores the world of wine in depth and interviews noted wine personalities), Ruma speaks to Anna, who recounts the history of Marchesi di Barolo, and explains her dreams of offering tourists and visitors to the winery a complete wine experience – cellar tour, tasting of wines and a wine-paired Italian meal – the perfect way to learn more about Barolo and Italy’s famous wines.

Learn more about Barolo, the Wine of Kings, and hear Anna’s views in an update on Between the Wines.
