Rodolfo Michel Announces First Solo Exhibits

Throughout his career Rodolfo Michel has studied under many established fashion designers. Finally he has earned the right to his own exhibits.

Beginning his career in Guadalajara, Rodolfo Michel eventually made his way to Texas to pursue photography. It was during his time in Texas that he studied under a Fashion Photographer and fell in love with the practice of taking art in the form of clothing and transferring it to art through his camera lens. Rodolfo Michel dedicated himself to thousands of hours in the darkroom discovering the behind the scenes work that goes into making a picture the best it can be.

“I live by a simple motto when it comes to my work. ‘Printing. Perfecting. Experimenting.’ I find it important to know the basics of your craft first and then making it your own, and making it the best version of your own at that! And then of course, just as life is unpredictable, you plan your work to grow and evolve in the unpredictable manner that all things thrive by,” said Rodolfo Michel.

This mentality has certainly proven successful to his career and has since opened doors leading to the exciting new journey of his first exhibits! Rodolfo Michel’s shows can be seen at the well-known Fotofest, the international non-profit organization for arts and education, as well as ArtHouston, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (U.N.A.M.) These shows have validated Rodolfo Michel’s belief in his work that all his time has been for something substantial. He is planning to move to Los Angeles next and is excited for the possibilities that will arise from this choice. If he has learned anything in his travels, it is that good things come from being proactive!

Rodolfo Michel describes the feeling of displaying your work in its own show as “awe-inspiring.” As one can imagine, there is no better feeling than working hard for something you care passionately for and watching others find the same appreciation for it that you’ve been longing to translate. Art is the best form of translation as it can be heard and understood in every language. In fact, art is said to be a language of it’s own and it seems Rodolfo Michel has learned it fluently.
