His first step towards success started when Rodolfo Michel moved to Los Angeles, Ca. In this national hub of artistic pursuits, he learned a lot of technique from fellow aspiring photographers. “If it wasn’t for the friends I made when I first arrived here, I would have learned about lighting a shot in a much more prolonged, monotonous way. Not to mention it would have cost me more money in wasted film,” joked Rodolfo Michel.

At the age of 39, Rodolfo Michel says he has utilized libraries and open exhibits over his years to research and study the “cream of the crop” in photography. He notes his most inspiring photographer to be Andrea Klarin, an established professional fashion photographer. Klarin aims her work to evolve and change naturally, a technique Rodolfo Michel aspires to incorporate into his own pieces.

Rodolfo Michel has had quite the journey to get where he is today. After studying English in Texas he moved home to Guadalajara and enrolled in Photography courses at U.A.G. From there he moved back to Texas and assisted a Fashion Photographer and it was there he fell in love with the career. Since then Rodolfo Michel has lived in Milan, Paris, Mexico, and the U.S. all the while studying fashion and photography to perfect his craft.
