However, managing the data for CSR projects proves to be a burdensome task. With this in mind, The ReScore Project Group examined the market for anultimate solution in data management for CSR initiatives.

The publishers of the research, the ReScore Group, is made up of graduates from Columbia University. The report is based on market research on environmental management and CSR programs, including interviews with 50 professionals to understand the core strategy and mechanisms of tracking and reporting CSR initiatives.

“The main focus of our research was to assess the key market drivers pushing U.S. companies to report sustainability data. We also identified what sustainability professionals are looking for in CSR data solutions and analyzed the current market for CSR reporting tools,” stated Kristina Alnes, a lead author of the report.

The study reveals that software solutions can successfully support CSR initiatives and sustainable development. However, the research study also found that companies are not always using these solutions to their benefit.

“Based on our findings, we believe that the widespread adoption of quality CSR data management tools is vital to driving sustainable business performance and ultimately reaching collective sustainability goals. While these tools are readily available to help companies simplify and accelerate tracking and reporting sustainability data, many companies have not taken the leap.”

The group completed their study on CSR data solutions for the US market in collaboration with Tennaxia, a cloud based CSR software program, the Trina Group and 2020 Strategies.
