Powder materials are mainly used as raw materials for powdered cosmetics, such as talcum powder, pressed powder, lipstick, rouge and eye shadow. It mainly plays a role in covering, smoothing, adhering, absorbing and spreading in cosmetics.
The raw materials commonly used in cosmetics are inorganic powder materials, organic powder materials and other powder materials.

Inorganic powder materials. The inorganic powder materials used in cosmetics are: talc, kaolin, bentonite, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, titanium dioxide, zinc dioxide, diatomaceous earth, etc.

Organic powder materials. Organic powder materials include zinc stearate, magnesium stearate, polyethylene powder, cellulose beads, polystyrene powder, etc, which are mainly used as adsorbent in various powder cosmetics such as talcum powder, pressed powder, rouge, etc.

The powder materials used in cosmetics usually need to meet certain requirements.

For example, the powder must have a fineness of more than 300 mesh, and the moisture content should be below 2%. It should not be irritating to the skin, and no pathogenic bacteria should be detected. The content of heavy metals needs to be strictly controlled.
