Starts from the famous village of Kasol, which is also known as the paradise of trekkers, the trail start through a melange of dense forests of pine and rhododendrons, lush meadows and rustic hamlets. Leaning a bit towards a moderate level of difficulty, the trek is ideal for fit beginners. Sar Pass is essentially a mountain ridge, and not an actual mountain pass. Trek Itinerary : Sar pass trek
Day 1 : Reach Kasol and trek to Grahan (7700 Ft., 8 Kms Trek).
On this day the trek will start from Kasol to Grahan village. Drive and reach the destination from where the trek starts. The trail that we are picking up going the Grahan is the local route that villagers choose to walk by. The trail leads through lush green dense forest, streams and waterfalls. The trail is easy at initial. Soon it becomes rocky and steep after crossing the Grahan Nallah. As we get closer to the Grahan Village the trail becomes pretty steep for a while and the village is visible. The campsite at Grahan is located near to the village and is surrounded by the Rhododendron trees. One can feel the charm of traditional houses beautiful evenings and capture the pictures of the locals near the camp. The campsite is heaven for photographers, artists and nature lovers. Spend the night at serene campsite.

Day 2 :Grahan to Mung Thach (11150 Ft., 7 Kms Trek).
On this day you trek to Mung Thach from Grahan. We trek about 6 to 7 hours to Mung Thach. The trail to Mung Thach is usually used by the locals for their daily work. The trail offers great range of flora and fauna birds, insects etc. As we go higher the trail becomes steeper and leads into the woods. The mesmerizing thick way can be witnessed while passing through the dense forest. Later the forest starts to vanish and you see the clear ground this is going to be a magic to witness the changing landscape frequently. One can admire the snow capped mountains and valley. Before reaching to the camp we have to climb a steep section. Mung Thach is located on the hillock and is surrounded by the flat rocks. The sunset and sunrises at this camp offers great views.

Day 3 : Mung Thach to Nagaru (12470 Ft., 8 Kms Trek).
On this day start early towards Nagaru. The trail today is going to little more effortful as it is more of steep than the previous route. It will take about 7 hrs to reach Nagaru. The trail passes through forests and goes up till snow covered meadows, which makes it little tricky to walk. As you walk higher it’s going to be colder and one can face little altitude sickness such as headache, dizziness. Don’t get tensioned as these are the normal body changes in the high altitude. So take as much water and keep your hands, nose, eyes and ears open to acclimatize better. The surroundings become more open and broad at these heights. Today, the campsite going to be cooler in the whole trek. The temperature can go below zero at nights. Once you reach the campsite at Nagaru one would experience picturesque views of magnificent mountains across the Parvati Valley.

Day 4 : Nagaru – Sar Pass (13850 FT) – Biskeri Thach (11000 Ft., 14 Kms Trek).
On this day start early again to make the most of it. The trail today is snowy and steeply on most of the route till the pass and beyond. After climbing the Nagaru ridge, the trail is moderate. Climb till the pass and gets the mind blowing views of the stunning meadows and towering peaks of Parvati valley. Today walk slow and steady while climbing upwards. Though walking on the snow is easier. Reaching at the top of the pass gives a feeling of encouragement by looking at the mighty Himalayan snow capped peaks green meadows and the trail below. One can spend some time at the Sar pass watch the beauty and feel the serenity. After the pass there is a great slope ideal for sliding which takes one a kilometer far within minutes. Then continue trekking down on gentler slopes through rhododendron trees till the Bishkeri Thach. After a long tiring day the lush green meadows, wildflowers and variety of birds at Bishkeri can rejuvenate your body and mind with energy.

Day 5 :Biskeri Thach to Barshaini and Departure from Kasol (8 Kms Trek).
On this day we trek back to Barshaini from Biskeri Thach, it is a moderate climb down. On this trail one has to be careful walking each step on the slope. Again walking slow and steady will help one to reach further. We will climb down through dense forests of deodar oak and pine. Many little streams will pass by the trail. After hours of mesmerizing forest trek we reach at Pulga village. From there moderate walk to Tulga village. Then cross the Parvati river and climb for a while to reach Barshaini. From Barshaini to reach kasol and as it is the last day so you leave this mesmerizing trek and departure from Kasol.
