India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has said that he loves playing Test cricket and it is the challenging one too as the players need to play for five days. However, Pant has been going through a rough patch in his career for the last one year because of his inconsistency. Moreover, he has lost his place to KL Rahul in the team too. Before the global pandemic novel coronavirus outbreak brought the world into a standstill, Pant had lost his place during India's tour of New Zealand.

"I love playing Tests. You can give yourself time. Mostly you can test yourself in Test cricket. When I was playing four-day first-class games, I had heard it is the real test but when I played five-day cricket...it was like you need to put in that extra effort," Rishabh Pant said during an Instagram Live chat session with his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals' official account.

While speaking about his earlier days of struggle, he said that he used to take a bus at 2 o'clock in the night to travel all the way to Delhi for cricket practice.

"They (Uttarakhand) did not have a cricket team at that point. So I used to take bus at 2 a.m. in the night. That time it used to take 6 hours by road. It was difficult during winters as it was too cold. There was fog also. It's been a good journey (as I look back). At the end of the day, you have to work hard to achieve your goal," said Pant.

Rishabh Pant further added that seniors like former India captain MS Dhoni, current India captain Virat Kohli, openers Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, veteran Suresh Raina and former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh have been helping the youngster. He also echoed his idol and legendary Australia wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist’s words where he said that one needs to have his own identity.

Moreover, Pant was about to play for Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) who was bought for Rs 1.9 crore in 2016. He came in the limelight in 2018 where his big-hitting batsman helped him becoming the most run-scorer for Delhi in one season in the IPL too.
