Investment Casting is also known as Lost Wax Casting or Micro Fusion Casting that is one of the oldest metal forming techniques. The process of investment casting includes pouring the molten metal into an expandable mold. The mold is formed using a wax pattern that is a disposable piece in the shape of the desired part. The ceramic slurry present hardens into the mold. Once the mold is been made the wax model is melted and drained away. And hence, different shapes can also be created according to the requirement.
