Adenomyosis is a special endometriosis, it plagues many women as a gynecological complication. Especially in recent years, as the increased induced abortion and cesarean section, the incidence of adenomyosis is getting higher and higher, and more and more people seek for medical treatment. However, at present, there is no radical cure for adenomyosis. Doctors who want to treat adenomyosis thoroughly now often take removal surgery to remove the uterus in order to get rid of the pain caused by adenomyosis, many of our patients will also agree with this treatment. However, uterus as an important organ to produce menstruation and pregnant fetus, the removal of it will inevitably bring many negative effects to women. Then is there any good treatment for adenomyosis?
Drug treatment
For patients with mild symptoms, who have strong fertility requirements or are near menopause, medication can be adopted.
1.Pain Medication
In the cases of mild symptoms, patients only need to relieve the symptoms, they can choose to use pain relievers during menstruation, such as fenbid, indomethacin and so on.
2.Pseudo-pregnancy therapy
If there is no fertility requirement or the symptoms are not serious, contraceptives and progesterone can be used to reduce endometrial atrophy and volume. Long-term continuous use will lead to artificial amenorrhea similar to pregnancy can control the deterioration of adenomyosis.
3.Pseudomenopausal therapy
It is suitable for patients with mild to moderate symptoms. It can reduce estrogen in vivo by inhibiting follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, or directly binding with estrogen and progesterone receptor of endometrium, which eventually leads to amenorrhea of endometrium causing amenorrhea, the optional drugs are Tanazole and Progesterone.
4.Drug-induced ovariectomy
This treatment is using drugs to inhibit the secretion of gonadotropin by pituitary gland, resulting in a significant decrease in ovarian hormones, so that the hormone level in the body reaches menopausal state. This method can also be adopted to reduce the size of the lesion before operation and the recurrence after operation. The commonly used drugs are gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa). However, because of the side effects of menopausal symptoms and the high cost of drugs, it is not currently used as a long-term treatment.
5.Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (IUD)
Patients can also choose the contraceptive device containing high-efficiency progesterone, control the deterioration of ectopic lesion through its continuous release of progesterone in the uterine cavity. IUD is suitable for patients with menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea and no fertility requirements.
2.Surgery
According to the severity of the condition, conservative and radical operations can be selected. Young patients or patients who want to have a baby can select laparoscopic presacral and sacral neurotomy to relieve dysmenorrhea, or enucleation of adenomyoma. Patients with severe cases and no fertility requirements or drug treatment is ineffective, panhysterectomy or TAHBSO may be recommended by doctor.
These operations above can not completely eliminate lesions and are prone to recurrence. And they will do damage to the uterus, and the damage is huge and irreversible, no operation can be non-invasive. Uterus is one of the important organs of women. It may have a greater impact on women's physical and mental health after excision. Therefore, it is not recommended that women with reproductive requirements should not have surgery unless they have to.
Patients with mild symptoms should take conservative natural therapy as far as possible. Chinese medicine believes that adenomyosis is caused by blockage of vital energy and blood, and the causes of congestion are stagnation of vital energy, internal heat, operation and trauma, leading to dysmenorrhea and infertility. Therefore, we can take Fuyan Pills, which contains Chinese angelica, safflower, peach kernel and other natural herbs that can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. It can effectively eliminate viral infection, repair endometrial trauma, and relieve pain and regulate menstruation. For patients with mild symptoms or strong fertility requirements, and patients who have recurred after surgery can also use Fuyan Pills to prevent.
In conclusion, uterus is an important endocrine organ for women. Besides menstruation, reproduction and endocrine functions, uterus has a powerful function to protect women's health. It can be seen that the maintenance of uterine function is an important condition to ensure women's quality of life. If it is possible, uterus preservation is the best choice for patients with adenomyosis.
