Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia was a young man of only 20 years when he began TKMOTORS in 1989 as the Gambian market representation of Mitsubishi Motor Corporation. In the new year, TKMOTORS will celebrate 25 years of business, with a list of big name clients making up their roster, and 16 Japanese Top Market Share Awards to their name, including one recently earned gold award. Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia looks forward to celebrating the successes of TKMOTORS with all of his employees and business partners.
TKMOTORS was a modest business back at the beginning in 1989. While Mitsubishi was a big name client, it was also TKMOTORS’ only client during those first years, notes Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia. Today, TKMOTORS’ clients include Hyundai Motor Company, Ashok Leyland of India, and JAC Motors of China. Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia says that he knew the business was taking off when TKMOTORS acquired the representation of Hyundai in 1996, but that was still just the beginning for this highly successful company.
In recognition of a quarter century of high quality automobile manufacturer representation, Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia will be holding a series of events in 2014 to celebrate TKMOTORS. “We will probably start with a New Year’s party, just to mark the first moments of that 25th year. Beyond that, I think we might use this anniversary to pursue a few new contracts,” says Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia. “We also want to hold events specifically celebrating each of the automobile manufacturers we represent and the importance of those business relationships. We wouldn’t be the business we are today without each and every one of our partners. I might even make some trips to visit their home operations around the world.”
The 25th anniversary of TKMOTORS also coincides with the 10th anniversary of Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia’s other company, TKXPORT. TKXPORT is a major import/export business that primarily imports construction materials and heavy machinery from China, and exports those materials to various African clients. “We will probably have at least one joint event,” says Tarek Kalil Musa of Gambia. “This is a big year for me, business-wise, and it deserves to be celebrated in style.”
